FGAE’s services help ensuring public health

HARAR- The Family Guidance Association of Ethiopia (FGAE) services have significant contributions in ensuring societal health and saving youths from bad habits and HIV/AIDS.

Harari State Health System Advisor representing the state health bureau Nesredin Ishaq said that the state health bureau supports the activities of FGAE from the beginning to succeed its commendable services in the society.

As to him, the private sector stakeholders’ efforts are contributing more towards ensuring sustainable societal health.

“FGAE is known for its outstanding family planning, family health, and HIV/AIDS protection services that have gained recognition from the government and the public at large,” he said.

As to him, the presence of FGAE’  health facilities immensely helps to promote the state’s healthcare sector improvements and access.

Having the FGAE’s youth friendly services  throughout the country also helps to cultivate a healthy and productive generations, he added.

FGAE Harar Youth SRH Center Youth Friendly Service Provider Sileshi Mekonnen said that

the center provides successive counseling services to the youths on how to protect themselves from HIV/AIDS and bad habits.

The center provides its services to 8-20 youths daily.

The youths come from all 19 kebles of Harari are accessing the center’s services, he said.

According to him, most of the services users are teenagers that are highly exposed to the HIV/AIDS virus and other bad habits due to peer pressures and the impact of globalization.
