Overview

FGAE SRH Training Institute and Learning Center (SRH/TILC)

The first training program started on March 31, 1975 with twelve health professionals who were working in MOH, Missionary Hospitals and clinics including private health institutions. Participants came from Wollega, Gamugoffa, Sidamo, Illubabor, Kaffa, Harar and Addis Ababa and the training was officially opened by H.E. Dr. Shimelis Adugna.The strenuous capacity building effort that started forty four years ago has shaped the current FGAE SRH Training Institute and Learning Center (SRH/TILC).

The training institute and learning center envisioned an Institution championing cutting edge SRH Capacity Building program in Africa and it is mission is to position itself as national enabler in providing platforms for sharing best practices in SRHR through experiential learning, innovation methods and providing need based quality training programs

The capacity building journey that started with twelve participants in a year showed a remarkable progress in the following consecutive years and a tremendous surge in recent years. For instance, from 2011 to 2020 training periods a total of 68,165 trainees took different trainings of which 28,989 health professionals participated in the health training program.
