Branch Office Profile

Addis Ababa Area office is one of the eight area offices of Family Guidance Association of Ethiopia (FGAE) established in 1993. During this year (2021), the area office has deployed a total of 76 staffs /employees, of which 38(50%) were female, while the remaining 38 (50%) were male. From this 39 (21 female and 18 Male) are clinical professionals and 37 (17 Female and 20 Male) are non-clinical staffs.

Implementation site (region, zone, wereda)

The Area Office has been implementing various sexual and reproductive health programs and services to the marginalized and underserved segments of the community in and around the capital Addis Ababa including two Zonal administrations in Oromia South West & North Shoa zones (Woliso and Fiche) and Southern Nations & Nationalities Regional state: (Gurage zone) (Wolkite and surrounding areas) to contribute for the achievement of the FGAE vision.

Addis Ababa Area Office has been providing integrated SRH services to the community, with five static clinics. Such as: Saris Midium SRH Clinic, Woliso Midium SRH Clinic, Merkato Sex Worker Friendly Clinic, Saris Sex Worker Friendly Clinic and Akaki Youth Center, 87 private health facilities (family Health networks) and 72 Public facilities like health posts, health centers, hospitals and university clinics, 6 higher learning institutions aimed to address access to SRH services to the needy community: the underserved youth and rural women.
