Family Planning  Initiatives

Family planning, which is the ability of individuals and couples to anticipate and attain their desired number of children and the spacing and timing of their births, is achieved through use of contraceptive methods and the treatment of involuntary infertility.  Family planning is a means of promoting the health of women and families as well as part of the strategy to reduce the high maternal, infant and child mortality. People in a reproductive age group shall be offered the opportunity to determine the number and spacing of their own children. Information about family planning should be made available for those in need to promote informed decision making up on service use irrespective of their marital status who fits eligibility criteria for FP services including information, education and counseling.

In consideration of the diverse client need, FGAE has set an ambitious target to address the family planning demands through availing of all method options to users across service delivery modalities. To this effect the Association exerted an extensive effort on systems development, partnership building and effective networking with strategic partners in the private and public sector to reach out more clients.
