FGAE delightfully celebrated “International Volunteers Day” on 05 December 2023.
FGAE celebrated an International Volunteers Day with its entire staff across the Association with the theme of “The Power of Collective Action, “if Every One Did”. The purpose of the event is to cultivate an opportunity of voluntary services and to recognize all volunteers who invested their precious time and efforts to voluntary services of the Association.
The occasion at HO-level was celebrated delightfully with the presence of more than 70 participants representing FGAE’s Executive Board Members, SMT and other head office staff. The event was started by extraordinary presentation of Mr. Gebeyehu Mekonnen, Vice President of FGAE.
In his lecture, he essentially addressed the concept of voluntarism from theoretical point of view by interrelating to the stamina of the Association prevailing for the last 58 years. Then, participants reflected their attention-grabbing experiences on voluntary services by memorizing unforgettable incidents occurred during their delivery of voluntary services.
Finally, the event was completed by the closing remark of Dr. Berhan Demeke, President of FGAE. In her speech, she recognised the values of all the volunteers who have been devoting their time, resource and knowledge for the existence and the strength of the Association.
She also extended her gratitude to the current FGAE’s Board Members, senior management team and staff for organizing the occasion of 2023 “Annual Volunteers Day” which inspires and motivates all participants to achieve better in the future as well.
