The Family Guidance Association of Ethiopia (FGAE) officially launched the Women Integrated Sexual Health Project (WISH2) in the Amhara Regional State on May 31, 2025. The event brought together key stakeholders, including representatives from the Ministry of Health (MoH), regional signatory bodies, and zonal health officials from Central Gondar, North Gondar, and West Gondar, as well as delegates from woreda health and women’s social affairs offices.During the event, the project’s strategic framework and roadmap were unveiled, outlining its objectives and implementation strategies.

A strong emphasis was placed on consortium engagement, highlighting the collaboration among various health institutions and organizations to ensure effective execution and long-term sustainability. Keynote addresses were delivered by representatives from the MoH, regional authorities, and delegates from the three zones, reinforcing the significance of the initiative in addressing women’s health concerns and its alignment with national health priorities.
This initiative is expected to significantly improve access to integrated sexual and reproductive health services, enhance health outcomes, and foster multi-sectoral partnerships for lasting impact. The involvement of representatives from different administrative levels underscores a shared commitment to ensuring the project’s success across the region.
