IPPF and IPPFARO 

The International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) has been one of the eldest entity in the world. Its establishment traces back to the tenets of eugenic society. This over 60 years’ young federation exists in several continents and regions housing different subsets:   Europe, South-East & Asia Pacific, The Arab World and Africa Region. IPPF’s Central Office is situated in London while its African counterpart is located in Nairobi, Kenya. FGAE is one of the over 40 member associations (MAs) of the Africa Regional Office. Apart from being the parent organization of several Family Planning Associations and RH agencies across the globe, IPPF as well as IPPFARO execute the following among others:

• Provision of unrestricted and restricted core funding
• Complementing supplies and commodities support
• Facilitating procurement from overseas
• Leveraging trust and technical assistance in large and long-term project or grant bids
• Training and capacity building opportunities
• Twining and liaising of experience sharing and learning among MAs
• Harnessing partnership and collaboration with international and regional SRH networks
• Knowledge management including documentation and sharing of promising practices
