International Planned Parenthood Federation Africa Region, undertook a significant field visit across Ethiopia.

From November 3 to 10, 2024, Yvonne Tatah, the Architect of Cooperation for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) at the International Planned Parenthood Federation Africa Region, undertook a significant field visit across Ethiopia.
The journey commenced in Addis Ababa, where Yvonne visited the FGAE Dr. Widad Kidanemariam Memorial MCH Clinic, Saris SRH Clinic, and Saris Confidential Clinic. These clinics play a crucial role in providing maternal and child health services, sexual and reproductive health care. During her visits, Yvonne gained valuable insights into their operations, challenges, and the impact of their services on the community.
Following her time in Addis Ababa, Yvonne traveled to Jimma, where she engaged with the Model Clinic, Youth Development Center, KPI Clinic, and the CPD Training Center. These facilities are pivotal in providing SRH Service, youth engagement, and continuous professional development for healthcare providers. Yvonne’s interactions with staff and community members highlighted the importance of these initiatives in fostering a healthier environment. In addition to these visits, Yvonne also explored the Family Health Center (FHC) and Public Health Facility (PHF), as well as workplaces clinical service at Limu Coffee Plantation Farm. This aspect of her visit was particularly important for understanding how health services are integrated into workplace settings and how they cater to the needs of workers.
The journey continued to Hawassa, where Yvonne visited the Hawasa Model Clinic, Youth Development Center, Hawassa Industrial Park, and Yirgalem University. These sites are essential for promoting health among diverse populations, including students and industrial workers. Yvonne’s exploration of these facilities provided her with a comprehensive view of the health landscape in the region.
The visit concluded with a final debriefing back in Addis Ababa, where Yvonne reflected on the insights gained and discussed strategies for strengthening public health initiatives.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the staff and community members who welcomed Yvonne and shared their experiences. Together, we are committed to enhancing sexual and reproductive health services and making a positive impact on the communities we serve!
