My name is Tigist Abebaw, and I dropped out of grade 10 in 2011 E.C. Then I was transferred from Lalibala to Woldia, where I worked for the last eight months as a bed maker, earning 500 birr each month. However, it was insufficient to support my family and myself. While I was in pain, my female friend advised me to work as a commercial sex worker in a bar with her. I agreed with her suggestion because I was having financial difficulties. Then, we got out from Woldia town so as to disappear ourselves from our families. Then traveled to another town, Logiya, where we had begun our employment as commercial sex workers. I used to start getting money which was enough to sustain my existence and assist my brother to finish his study. Then, along the route, I was chosen as a volunteer by Family Guidance Association of Ethiopia (FGAE) Logiya clinic, from which I profited in awareness creation, experience sharing among sex workers, how to save money in order to alter my life. Now I promised for myself and started running my own Business. Besides, I got back and began living in my own house in Lalibala. Now I’m sharing my personal life experience to others to take lessons.
