Overview

Globalization and technological changes have accelerated in very much over the past several years and have created a new global economy “powered by technology, fueled by information and driven by knowledge.” The emergence of this new global economy has serious implications on every walks of life. Information and communications technologies (ICTs) have been considered as potentially powerful enabling tools for reform.

 Mission
The mission of the ICT Unit is to play a major enabling role in strengthening the operational missions of the organization.
Major tasks /objectives
The core objectives of the ICT unit are to address key ICT infrastructural, services automation

needs of the organization.  

 These include:

·  Enhance collaboration across the Department and branch offices through digital solutions to inform
and engage internal and external audiences.

·  Deploy a modernized IT infrastructure that enables seamless access to information resources.

·Protect the integrity of the organization information and IT assets by strengthening the cyber security.  

·  Apply different policies and associated standards
