Family Guidance Association of Ethiopia and Ethiopian Midwives Association signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)/Teaming Agreement on June 16, 2020. Mr. Feleke Fanta an executive director of FGAE and Mr. Yeshitila Tesfaye an executive director of EMwA were signed behalf of their associations. FGAE is one of the leading organization providing sexual reproductive health services for the last 54 years in Ethiopia whereas EMwA is a professional association of Ethiopian Midwives that promote and enhance the performance and status of midwifery professional for more than 28 years. Strengthening the two non -governmental old age indigenous associations, which are working on health, bring enormous benefit for the health service as well as for the associations to be center of excellence.
The objectives of the MOU/Teaming were:
- · To jointly carry out for participation, collaboration and operations in area of advocacy, joint resource mobilization & partnership, project implementation & research, leverage competency and resources
- · To enhance a center of excellence of both associations for quality of service delivery, research and capacity building trainings to ensure self-sustainability.
- · To foster horizontal MA to MA learning between FGAE and EMwA through human capacity development, technical assistance and collaboration.
The MOU /Teaming Agreement has been established for five years from the date of the last signature.
