The IPPF African Region sub-office and Family Guidance Association of Ethiopia (FGAE) are jointly running the orientation-training on Advocacy for Sexual Reproductive Health Rights and Harnessing the Demographic Dividend.
The session would allow the young people to be aware of the African Union Regional policy Frameworks and to build a strong Pan African youth movement on SRHR.
The training has brought together dynamic and energetic youths from various Youth Based Organizations to strengthen their capacities on SRHR policy and other frameworks working in African region; to empower them to improved SRH services and to identify opportunities to influence national policy frameworks on SRH education, Gender Equality and other SRH challenges.
On the occasion, Ato Getachew Habtie A/Executive Director of FGAE conveyed opening remarks. He said that FGAE has been aggressively working to address AYSRH challenges by creating Youth Action Movement (YAM) structure and implementing AYSRHR programs for the last 55 years. As a result, the Association has achieved a lot in awareness creation of the youth in SRHR issues and improving access of SRH services in Ethiopia. He also emphasized that the Association would continue empowering the youth by ensuring the youth participation in all rounded SRHR issues.
