Target Beneficiaries
The project will provide RMNCH-N services for 1,475,000 women and children in the 40 targeted districts through NSA-managed health facilities. Of these, 349,000 are women of reproductive age, and 216,281 are children less than five years of age. Furthermore, other population groups would benefit from the health service provided by the NSA-managed health facilities within the targeted districts
Project Aim
Increase delivery of quality RMNCAH-N services through local NSA managed health facilities.
Operational Sites
Empowering community activities have been successfully implemented across five regional states of Ethiopia, targeting specific zones and woredas to address localized needs and challenges. Below is an overview of the activities in each region:
1. South Ethiopia Regional State
In the South Ethiopia Regional State, efforts have focused on Dila and Wanago woredas of Gedeo Zone, as well as Karat and Male woredas in South Omo Zone. These interventions aim to enhance community resilience, improve livelihoods, and promote sustainable development.
2. Central Ethiopia Regional State
In the Central Ethiopia Regional State, activities have been carried out in:
- Cheha, Shashago, and Enemor woredas of Guraghe Zone.
3. Oromia National Regional State
Community empowerment initiatives in Oromia National Regional State have spanned multiple zones and woredas:
- East Shewa Zone: Boset, Batu, and Lume woredas.
- Southwest Shewa Zone: Waliso, Sadensodo, and Dawo woredas.
- Ilu Ababora Zone: Matu, Ale, and Alegasachi woredas.
- Buno Bedele Zone: Badesa, Chora, and Gechi woredas.
4. Amhara Regional State
Empowerment activities in the Amhara Regional State have targeted several zones:
- South Gondar Zone: Fogera woreda.
- South Wollo Zone: Ambasel, Kelela, Kalu, and Seint woredas.
- North Wollo Zone: Raya Kobo and Gideyin woredas.
- Waghimra Zone: Gazgibla and Sekota woredas.
5. Afar Regional State
In the Afar Regional State, activities have been conducted in:
- Zone One: Chifera, Asayita, and Dubit woredas.
- Zone Five: Telalak and Dalifage woredas.
